New Orleans/Two Faces: A Mother/Son Photo Exhibit
From the website: New Orleans/Two Faces is a mother-son exhibition of Millburn, NJ native, Deborah Slavitt, and son, Henry Joost. Deborah and Henry have been traveling and shooting photos together for almost twenty years during Ms. Slavitt's career as a travel writer and photographer and their life around the world.
From the website: Henry shot his photographs last summer as part of an art and documentary film project directed by Gabriel Nussbaum. Gabriel and Elizabeth Wood created a drama and video program for teenagers in New Orleans, sending the students home with video cameras. Their documentary, "Wade in the Water" is currently in post-production and bound for film festivals and fund-raising events soon. Profits will go to support the arts in the New Orleans schools.
From the website: Deborah's photos show Kern Studios in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans where many of the floats for Mardi Gras are made.
